Hayward's 'Golden Parachute' Is Relatively Modest
The details of his "modest" parachute:
If he leaves the company, he stands to walk away with a compensation package that includes about $1.5 million in salary and a pension worth $17 million. That will seem like an unforgivable sum to many people. But as "golden parachutes" go, his deal is actually quite modest.
The phrase "go to jail, don't pass go, don't collect 200 dollars" comes to mind. I guess in the corporate world, punishment is not getting as much money as you should have gotten. This is really fucked up, how did we get to this?*
*Rhetorical question, I know the answer to that question: conservatism brainwashing society into thinking that this is "moral."
