Never before in all our history have these forces been so united against one candidate as they stand today. They are unanimous in their hate for me and I welcome their hatred.-FDR

Idiot of the Week

Indiana

Gov. Mitch Daniels says he is ready to make Indiana the 23rd right-to-work state as soon as a bill reaches his desk.

It shouldn't be called "right-to-work", that is Orwellian. It should be called, "anti-right-to-unionize" because it will make it harder to form a union. The war on unions will continue until something is done. But night is darkest before dawn, it will get worse for unions before it gets better and it will get better. The labor movement was born out of hostile times and I have hope that it can survive this latest anti-union onslaught. If not, the US is headed for bad times for workers. Without unions there to constantly push for freedoms, slowly businesses and governments will erode those freedoms the labor movement fought for. Does anybody really want that to happen?

And another thing, I put "Indiana" as the idiot and not Daniels or the Republicans who drafted the bill for a reason. When the people in the state keep voting for anti-union Republicans, don't be surprised when they vote to bust unions, the voters should share some blame. Ditto for other states with strong union membership who elect Republicans. When you sleep with the anti-union dogs, don't be surprised when you wake up with anti-union fleas.

Joke

How do you know that liberals invented the Wii?

Because if a conservative invented it, it would have been called a "Mii."

Romney is a "Rich Fuck"

Fresh off his defeat in South Carolina to that Fat Fuck Newt Gingrich, I think I need to make a point about Mitt Romney to just add insult to injury. Romney is one of those types of rich people who I would describe as a "rich fuck." You know how in 2008 when McCain forgot how many homes he owned and that showed how elitist he was? Well, Romney has those moments every day like saying how he likes to fire people or makes a 10,000 dollar bet or says that corporations are people. Most of his fortune came from his vulture capitalist business Bain (not the Batman villain) Capital. Essentially his entire fortune came from being a parasite. A lot of rich people make money for better or worse by at least being somewhat productive, not Romney. Romney is an elitist, greedy, parasitic, rich fuck. He is the worse kind of rich person and he would make a terrible president.

Keystone Pipeline Supporters

Ha ha! The president did the right thing, let's all just hope that the decision is permenant and the pipeline is never built. The harder it is to access fossil fuels, the sooner it will be that we totally get off fossil fuels for good. Ha ha! :-P

Happy 39th Birthday!

To Roe vs Wade, the decision that liberated millions of women.

Idiot of the Week

Glenn Beck

I'm still angry at him for his attempt to defile the King legacy by speaking at the Lincoln Monument; never forgive, never forget. And my post from last MLK Day still holds true.

(Un)presidential Quote Part 2

"18, 19-year-old kids make stupid mistakes all too often and that's what's occurred here."-Rick Perry

A stupid mistake is spilling a glass of water or cutting yourself shaving. Pissing on a corpse on camera is criminal.

Happy Birthday MLK!!!!!

Billboard Reading

A person is driving down a road outside a city and they read all the billboards describing what is in the city. They see a sign for a mall and say, "They have a mall!" They see a sign for an amusement park and say, "They have an amusement park!" They see a sign for a zoo and say, "They have a zoo!" The next sign they see is old and hasn't changed in a while. The sign is mostly white and the faded message is incoherent. The person reads it and says, "And they have a Republican Party!"

(Un)presidential Quote

"I like being able to fire people."-Mitt Romney

Great presidents give us quotes like "Four score and seven years ago...", "Ask not what your country...", or "The only thing we have to fear...", not "I want to be able to fire your ass!"

Idiot of the Week

Raheem Morris

While I should have picked Mitt Romney or Rick Santorum, it's important as a sports fan to call out a terrible coach every once in a while, especially when you are a fan of that team. From 10-6 to 4-12 is a huge drop. Most teams can blame it on injuries or tough schedules, but the Bucs had no excuse for losing the last 10 games of the season. The defense was terrible and the penalties and turnovers were worse. Those kinds of things are the fault of the coach and Morris was a bad coach, the Bucs deserve better.

One Year Ago Today

A right-wing fanatic open-fired in a grocery store in Tucson killing 6 and wounding many others including Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. She has since made a remarkable recovery and I hope she runs for reelection. We can't let conservatives win, this incident has inspired me as a liberal and has waken me up more to the ugliness of the other side. Here is my reaction a year ago. It's as true today as it was last year. Keep the victims in your thoughts and help me continue to fight the right-wing, or they would have died or suffered in vain.

"Authoritarianism is a two-sided coin. We know authoritarians support bad laws, but they also oppose good laws. Conservatives also support bad laws and oppose good laws, that is why conservatism is authoritarian in nature."-Albert Cirrus

Idiot of the Week

Republican Presidential Candidates

The Iowa Caucus is tomorrow and power-hungry Republicans have been beating each other up over who wants to lose to Obama for months. So much dirt has come out about each one and I don't think they will have enough strength to make it to November. Obama is the real winner tomorrow.
