Never before in all our history have these forces been so united against one candidate as they stand today. They are unanimous in their hate for me and I welcome their hatred.-FDR

Super Bowl 2011

You know, I hate both the Steelers and the Packers. I don't give a levitating crap about "terrible towels" or "cheese heads." The fans for both teams suck and are annoying. But there is one difference between the Packers and the Steelers, the Packers aren't led by a rapist quarterback. I hope the Packers defense gives Ben Rapistberger hell because he sure gave several young women hell. Go Packers!

And the commercials this year better not suck like last year's "misogyny fest."

Idiot of the Week

Sarah Palin

This is dumb:

Palin responded, "That was another one of those WTF moments when [Mr. Obama] so often repeated the 'Sputnik Moment' that he would aspire Americans to celebrate. He needs to remember that what happened back then with the former communist USSR and their victory in that race to space, yeah, they won, but they also incurred so much debt at the time that it led to the inevitable collapse of the Soviet Union."

A. They launched Sputnik, but we beat them to the moon dumbass. The point of the space race was to get to the moon first, so America won. They could have sent a million satellites into space, but still lost.
B. It wasn't debt that mainly led to the collapse of the USSR, but Glasnost and Perestroika.

People like Palin represent the dumbing down of America that we see in the conservative movement. They need to shut up if America is ever going to return to greatness.

Stimulus Helps Those Who Hate It

Oh the irony:

Bolstered by billions in federal stimulus money, an effort is under way around the country to expand broadband Internet access to rural areas.

Millions of wacky right-wing kooks in the rural areas now have internet to spew their hatred towards the government that gave them the connection.

Confession Time

Obama has been in office for 2 years now and has given zillions of speeches. Now as someone who voted and semi-campaigned for him, you would think that I would watch every speech. Well, I have a confession: I have never watched an entire Obama speech while in office. I haven't even seen most of a speech. I saw him live when he came to Dunedin, Florida during the campaign, but since then, nothing. I watch tiny bits on the news channels that happen later, but I just can't sit through a whole speech. I watched entire Bush SOTU addresses, but mostly to see if he would say some retarded or fascistic shit. But Obama I don't watch, something about him just doesn't inspire me to watch.

Almost Forgot

This is sort of an old story, but Joe Lieberman is retiring from the Senate in 2012 and I have one thing to add:

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

VICTORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good bye you "centrist" piece of shit!

Idiot of the Week

This idiot right-wing terrorist asshole

A suspicious backpack left along a Martin Luther King Day parade route in Spokane, Wash., held a radio-controlled pipe bomb that could have sprayed shrapnel at marchers in the parade.

First the Tucson shooting, now this. Conservatives really have their hands full.

Free Market=Racist

Turns out "free market" is just another racist buzzword.

It is this last point that I want to talk about more, because the people who are making this “free market solutions” argument are ignoring, I think in most cases deliberately, that the “classic liberals” (which is a euphemism for “reactionaries that dress their assholery up in fancy pants language") of their time were supported by the Tea Partiers of their time, and the latter were under no illusions about why they preferred “free market” solutions. And that reason is they wanted to keep black people out of their stores, neighborhoods, etc. And their rationale for this was.....economic. They believed and argued strongly that black customers are bad for business. They did not believe black money spends as good as white money.

Always remember, if it wasn't for desegregation laws in the 60's, we would still see all-white businesses today across the south. The so-called "free market" establishes more racism than it eradicates.

Why Alabama Sucks Part 1,094,592

The governor is a Jesus freak.

"Anybody here today who has not accepted Jesus Christ as their savior, I'm telling you, you're not my brother and you're not my sister, and I want to be your brother," Bentley said Monday, his inauguration day, according to The Birmingham News.

It's 2011, not 1011 dude. Come on Robert Bentley, enter the 21st Century. Don't give a giant middle finger to non-Christians. It's people like you that make Alabamans seems stupid and backwards in everything but college football.

To My Stupid Troll

I'm not posting your posts until you learn to calm down dude. I find it funny that you first call me "hateful" and then call me a racial slur used against Hispanics. First, I know you know my real last name and I won't repeat it. It's Norwegian, not Hispanic. Second, thank you for proving my point about you being racist.

Conservatives Should not be Allowed to Celebrate MLK Day

Every time I think of Glenn Beck taking a gigantic crap on King's legacy last August, I feel enraged. If Beck had been older in the 1960's, he would have put King's face on his chalkboard. But in the bigger picture, King stood against everything conservatives stand for I think that King is too great to allow them to celebrate his legacy. Conservatives are racist assholes to the core, there's no doubt about it. If King was alive today, they would hate him more than they hate Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and Jeremiah Wright combined. King would have been the target of a right-wing hitman like say Jared Loughner. King was as flaming liberal as you can get, we need to remind people that every day.

Let conservatives celebrate one of their own like Ronald Reagan or Ayn Rand, but not Martin Luther King.

Happy Martin Luther King Day!

The Tucson Shooting and the NRA Gun Culture

Florida will soon be the laughing stock of America, now that gun owners can keep guns in their house and doctors won't be allowed to ask them if they have them.

Sponsored by Rep. Jason Brodeur, R-Sanford, the bill (HB 155) would make it a felony for a physician or staff member to ask patients or family members of patients if they own guns or store guns at home. If found guilty, the medical provider could be fined up to $5 million or face up to five years in jail.

Republicans really hate doctors, they want them to shut up about abortion and want to harass them with the insurance companies, now this. I mean, doctors ask a lot questions about other harmful things around the house like cigarettes, electrical cords, pools, etc, why not guns? Oh yeah, because guns are holy and can't be questioned.

Imagine someone working their ass off to get through medical school and one day becomes a doctor. They are talking to a patient about safety and children and it slips out "do you have a gun?" They patient gets pissed and reports the doctor who goes to jail. To me that is unfair.

What if asking about guns stops the next Jared Loughner? And that is the crux of the matter here, the NRA while openly opposing shootings like Tucson secretly supports it. If there is no other issue to pinpoint where Jared falls on the political spectrum, it's this. Gun-nuttery is pretty much a symptom of the right and not left, so IMHO Jared could not foster any relevant left-wing beliefs (ditto for his position on abortion). With that said, it's 100% fair to trash the right over this.

But back to the NRA. I've come to the conclusion that the NRA is somewhat of a terrorist organization in the sense that they have created an atmosphere of gun-worship and violence that falls outside even rational gun ownership. I mean if you want a gun for hunting or self defense, more power to you, but I don't think the NRA truly serves that purpose. Of course the NRA claims the platform of self defense and probably have prevented many burglaries, but you have to remember that this is mainly a wash. The crook is using a gun also because of the NRA's gun-worshipping culture that makes them use the gun when rationally it's a bad idea. So in the act of attempting to promote self-defense, they have (in?)inadvertently made the criminals use guns also.

Then there is the abuse of guns that fall outside of simple robbery or burglary, the shooting rampages. Anybody who watches Bowling for Columbine and doesn't walk away with the conclusion that the NRA has an indifference or hostility towards the pain and suffering of school shootings is an idiot. The NRA held rallies to spite the victims of the shootings. It's the same thing with the Tucson shooting except that after 2 years of teabagger hate, one can make the argument that to a greater extent the entire conservative movement is complicit in the shooting and not just the NRA. Conservative insanity is tied to guns and nobody can separate the two.

Some may say Jared was not a true conservative, but simply because of the gun-nuttery issue, any shooting regardless of the ambiguity of ideology should by default be blamed on the right.

Fuck Palin

If you want a clear example of adding insult to injury, look no further than Sarah Palin.

The term "blood libel" is not well known, but it is highly charged — a direct reference to a time when many European Christians blamed Jews for kidnapping and murdering Christian children to obtain their blood. Jews were tortured and executed for crimes they did not commit, emblematic of anti-Semitism so virulent that some scholars recoiled Wednesday at Palin's use of the term.

Palin used this for one reason and one reason alone, because Gabrielle Giffords is Jewish. It's like her saying, "I know I'm partially responsible for this shooting of a Jewish woman, but when you call me out on it, I will say that you are persecuting me for being the Jew!" This kind of childishness has no place in politics. Palin could have just said, "I'm sorry" and it would have been the end of it.

But the good news is that hopefully this will end any possible political future for her, lack of success is the best revenge.

Media Spin

Take this headline:

Ill. faces 66 percent tax boost amid budget crisis

"66% is a lot" says the reader. But where does that 66% come from?

The increase now goes to Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn, who supports the plan to temporarily raise the personal tax rate to 5 percent, a two-thirds increase from the current 3 percent rate.

Oh. Just 3 to 5 percent. If it went from 1 to 2 percent, would the headline read "Ill. faces 100 percent tax boost amid budget crisis?" Complete media spin.

Conservative or Crazy? Both!

There's a lot of debate about whether the Tucson shooter Jared Loughner was inspired by right-wing rhetoric or was just nuts. Why not both? Conservatism is driven by insanity, so obviously Jared was both. Not to say all mentally insane people will go out and shoot people of course. Conservatives have a worldview that leans away from reality to the point where I can classify them as insane.

To put it in a different way: not all crazy people are conservative, but all conservatives are crazy.

Keith is Wrong

This is what Keith Olbermann said after the Jared Loughner shootings:

“We need to put the guns down. Just as importantly we need to put the gun metaphors away and permanently. Left, right, middle — politicians and citizens — sane and insane. … If Sarah Palin, whose website … scrubbed bulls-eye targets on 20 representatives, including Gabby Giffords, does not repudiate her own part in amplifying violence and violent imagery in politics, she must be dismissed from politics. She must be repudiated by the members of her own party, and if they fail to do so, each one of them must be judged to have silently defended this tactic … And if those of us considered to be ‘on the left’ do not re-dedicate ourselves to our vigilance to eliminate all our own suggestions of violence — however inadvertent they might have been — then we, too, deserve the repudiation of the more sober and peaceful of our politicians and our viewers and our networks. … I say it first, and freely: Violence, or the threat of violence, has no place in our Democracy, and I apologize for and repudiate any act or any thing in my past that may have even inadvertently encouraged violence.”

I rarely disagree with Keith, but he’s wrong to say this. I feel he’s being too defensive about his own rhetoric, he needs to stay on the offense. I mean he’s right to go after Palin and conservatives, but he shouldn’t blame fellow liberals too. This isn't a two-sided thing Keith, you aren't Jon Stewart. His enemies on the right will surely use this to comb through every word he says now and forever and call him a hypocrite if he even says something like “shooting the messenger.” The right will use this as an attempt to censor Olbermann.

He's also wrong when he says "Violence, or the threat of violence, has no place in our Democracy." Yes it does. To name a few examples, police when they aren't being abusive and doing their jobs use violence and the threat of violence to maintain the peace. Violence was also used to tackle the shooter by the heroes who prevented more shots from being fired. Of course speaking as a peaceful (not to be confused with pacifism) person who has opposed a lot of US wars, violence is necessary to stop people like Hitler in World War 2. Even peaceful movements like civil rights and union movements as columnist Ted Rall has pointed out have contained some violent aspects that have made them work. There is different kinds of violence, good and bad. But you don't equate a bully punching you in the face with punching a bully back.

But to fix Keith's rant, there's a certain kind of violence that doesn't belong in the United States or elsewhere and that is conservative violence or the threat of conservative violence. We need to remember that.

Idiot of the Week

John Boehner

This asshole sure loves to cry. I don't mind people crying and getting emotional, but when you are the head of a party that has spent 24/7 trying to destroy the middle class and worker rights, the tears are crocodile tears. So to me, Boehner is just a crybaby with a larger gavel and I can't wait for him to not be Speaker anymore. The only place for crying "Boehners" is in porno.

"You Pulled the Trigger!"

Yesterday's massacre in Tucson left 6 dead plus many wounded including:

Authorities said the dead included U.S. District Judge John Roll, 63; Christina Greene, 9; Giffords aide Gabe Zimmerman, 30; Dorothy Morris, 76; Dorwin Stoddard, 76; and Phyllis Scheck, 79.

A 9 year old girl, holy shit! The target of the shooting was Gabrielle Giffords, a Democratic congresswoman. The shooter, a crazy asshole named Jared Loughner apparently was targeting the congresswoman. Target, hmmm, where does that sound familiar? Oh yeah:

Notice the 4th name on the list and notice the rifle views on the map. Yes, that is Giffords and she is only one of two (other is Rahall) to get reelected. When you make a map for certain politicians, use something else besides a fucking rifle view finder, use a dot or a flower or anything else. But Sarah Palin is a hunter you betcha, so her "don't retreat reload" rhetoric could have lead to this. Giffords was the target of teabagger violence before the shooting, her office was vandalized. Sarah Palin led to this rhetoric, so she has blood on her hands. Sarah Palin, you pulled the trigger. It wasn't just one nut, but an entire community that added to the rhetoric. But to add to the list of co-conspirators, I will add:

Racists, homophobes, sexists, xenophobes, and Islamophobes. You pulled the trigger.

People who deny the existence of global warming and other anti-environmentalists. You pulled the trigger.

Right-wing media types, tv networks, websites, blogs, radio shows, newspapers, etc. You pulled the trigger.

Christian anti-choicers who oppose legal and safe abortion. You pulled the trigger.

Teabaggers who think they are adding to the debate when in reality are stupid idiots. You pulled the trigger.

People who oppose rational government regulations on big business, the "pseudo-libertarians." You pulled the trigger.

People who want the teaching of creationism in our schools. You pulled the trigger.

People obsessed with guns, not reasonable gun-owners, but gun nuts. You pulled the trigger.

Birthers and other conspiracy theorists obsessed with Obama. You pulled the trigger.

Union-haters. You pulled the trigger.

Warmongers, neocons, and idiots who wave the flag too much. You pulled the trigger.

Every Republican and conservative. You pulled the trigger.

This post might be received with rejection, but it's true. Conservatism has never added anything good to this country and it never will. It has only added bad things, including yesterday in Tucson.

Good Move Elizabeth

The late Elizabeth Edwards left her cheating husband nothing.

Of course John is rich enough to not need the money, he actually did good things when not fucking other women while his wife had cancer.

Idiot of the Week

Tucker Carlson

Now I'm a Christian, I make mistakes myself and I believe fervently in second chances. But Michael Vick killed dogs and he did it in a heartless and cruel way and I think personally he should have been executed for that. He wasn't, but the idea that the President of the United States would be getting behind someone who murdered dogs?

I don't support capital punishment for anyone, especially for fucking dog murder. What Vick did was bad, but suggesting that anybody should be killed for it is insane. Carlson owes Vick (and Obama) an apology.
