What do we blame this idiocy on? IMHO, it's the 30 year long war on education started by the Republicans. It can be blamed on the intentional Orwellian rewriting of history. It can be blamed on the attacks on teachers unions. It can be blamed on the "intelligent design" movement. It can be blamed on budget cuts on schools, specifically arts programs. It can be blamed on vouchers and homeschooling. It can be blamed on the changing of textbooks to diminish the role of slavery.
Conservatives know that with a dumbed-down America, they will be able to regain power easier, we must stop them.
