Left Take
I just discovered this blog via a Facebook page and it looks like fun. I think I will take a shot at it to get viewers here so I stop talking to myself.
Idiot of the Week
Jim "tough shit" Bunning.
And when Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.) begged him to drop his objection, Politico reports, Bunning replied: "Tough shit."
No, he told every unemployed person who needed the benefits "tough shit."
Fuck you Bunny Boy!

I'm Glad Republicans Broke Into the Watergate...
...and not some other hotel like the Howard Johnson or else every scandal would end with "Johnson." Now it's "Lockergate."

Pawlenty Versus Patients
Remember this next time a conservative tells you that people who need health coverage can just go to the ER.
Emergency rooms should be able to turn patients away to cut costs, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R-Minn.) said last night.
Appearing on Fox News's "On the Record with Greta Van Sustren" last night, Pawlenty said the federal law that mandates ER treatment should be repealed.
Why did Minnesota, a state that hasn't voted for a Republican president since Nixon vote for the this dickass? Time to stop the embarrassments Minnesota and vote for a Democrat this year for governor.

William Melvin Hicks 12/16/61-2/26/94 American Hero
A few years ago, I discovered the band Tool and listened to the album "Aenema" and the final track "Third Eye" had this spoken voice of someone I've never heard of before. It was comedian Bill Hicks ranting about drugs. I went to Youtube and watched some of his comedy bits and the more and more I watched him, the more he made sense. Hicks died 16 years ago today of Pancreatic Cancer at the age of 32. In the days before his death, he didn't try to find Jesus or anything, he re-read the "Lord of the Rings" and made jokes. The dude with his comedic routine made his voice heard and the world needs more people like him. Too bad he had to die. Bill Hicks is an American hero. RIP.

Malkintented Opens a Can
I read this and almost lost it:
Here's the roll call vote in the House last night to repeal a longstanding antitrust exemption for health insurers.
So, how exactly does this help families struggling with health insurance costs?
Not much.
Hey fucker, you don't give a levitating shit about struggling families, so shut the fuck up! If you did, you would support a single payer plan or at least a public option so families can get their healthcare free from the government. But you want to keep the status quo so more people will die. Fuck you, you piece of shit, FUCK YOU!!!!!

Is This Really News?
I could have saved these people lots of money on this study.
Here's my take:
Anyone who intentionally takes in carcinogenic material is DUMBER than someone who doesn't.
End of debate, save some time on the research.

What to do with the John "Cut-Down-The-Birch" Society?
Anti-environmentalists have an agenda IMHO and that agenda is to kill millions of people and destroy the Earth, primarily with global warming and the icecaps melting. The sad thing is, I'm afraid they are winning. I think if these people want to destroy the Earth, we environmentalists have to treat them like they are destroying the Earth. I suggest we start by throwing people in jail who control government and industry if they stand in the way of legislation to stop global warming.
Think that is harsh? They are already suggesting doing it to us!
First, we need to adopt an aggressive stance. We should cast from office any politician who facilitated the climate-change fraud. Next, we need to press for criminal investigations into and charges against Climateers whenever possible. And, when such a remedy isn't, we should resort to civil-court action when feasible.
Such projection on Duke's part, if anybody is fraudulent, its his side. I just don't want to wait for the facts to prove him wrong. Because when they do, it will be too late for the Earth.

Scott Brown 3 weeks ago was Malkintented's hero, now he is on her shitlist.
How long before Brown joins Democrats on healthcare?*
*Actually I doubt this, but I could be wrong.

No, Your Dad Was a Terrorist
Wow, the plot thickens.
The daughter of a man who crashed his small plane into a building housing offices of the Internal Revenue Service called her father a hero for his anti-government views but said his actions, which killed an IRS employee, were "inappropriate."
Joe Stack's adult daughter, Samantha Bell, spoke to ABC's "Good Morning America" from her home in Norway. Asked during a phone interview broadcast Monday if she considered her father a hero, she said: "Yes. Because now maybe people will listen."
Wait one fucking minute, first you say his actions were inappropriate, then you say people will listen to him now that he is dead. You can't have it both ways.
Samantha Bell, your dad was insane and a terrorist, he was no fucking hero. By proxy, you are insane also. So go fuck yourself.

Ron Paul is Still a Nut
It's a surprise that Ron Paul would win the CPAC straw poll, he got 31%. Among mainstream conservatives, the guy is a pariah, I thought Palin would win, but she got only 7%! Ron Paul represents the nuts of the nuts and even if he does share some opinions with me, I can find any liberal politician that shares those opinions. A mainstream conservative would destroy this country and its government slowly, Ron Paul would do it in one second. Maybe that's why the conservatives suddenly have a boner for him at CPAC. But don't worry about him running, the dude is 74 and by 2012 will be older. Republicans gave one old fart a chance and he blew it. It will probably be Romney or Mitch Daniels as the darkhorse candidate.
Political Correctness
My least favorite words in the whole world are "political correctness" and its counter "political incorrectness", I hate it when people use those words. People use them and they don't even know what they really mean and it's time to define them.
For example, "political correctness" does not mean making Santa Claus black and "political incorrectness" does not mean saying the black Santa Claus got fat by eating fried chicken. Politeness and insensitive jokes have been around forever, but that does not make you "politically correct" or "politically incorrect." The terms have political and social connotations to them and are both used by the right to disparage liberals.
Let me go on the record and say that every policy and idea promoted by liberals will be labeled "politically correct." This is especially true with social issues. A conservative will say something like "I can't say something about blacks or hispanics or etc cause it's politically incorrect" then they will go ahead and say it as if they are being rebellious. But they aren't being rebellious, they are being racist. Calling something "politically correct" is in a way an enablement for racism and it's time to point that out.
I find this ironic cause conservatives say that political correctness is censorship, but they go ahead and say it anyways. But I find that liberals will be hesitant to say something out of fear of being called "politically correct", so it's the exact opposite of what conservatives say. I think it's time to just called conservatives what they are: racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, and bigoted. In the mean time, I think it's time for us to demonize the terms "political correctness" and "political incorrectness" as if they were saying the n-word. If anything, those terms are worse than the n-word or any other racist slang cause those terms enable racism and other bad human emotions. The end goal of conservatives is to change society so they can make it hell for everyone and everything they call "politically correct." That's why we shouldn't use those terms unless we are using them to talk about how bad they are are.
It's funny cause if a conservative reads this, they will be like "saying political correct is now politically incorrect, so I will say this as much as possible." Good, I want them to cause then it will expose their agenda and more people realize that I'm right and the terms are used to censor liberals and change society for the worse. I just don't want liberals/normal people to use it as a form of self-criticism.

Year Ago Today
Rick Santelli inspired the modern day Klu Klux Klan.
The tea party (tea bagger) movement started at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, not in the "heartland" of America. It has always been an elitist movement even if the people involved in it are not the elite. Like the KKK, the tea baggers are protesting a change in social order whether it is racial or financial. As we saw yesterday in Austin, the tea baggers like the KKK are willing to resort to violence to further their cause.

The Teabaggers Just Lost a Member
Joseph Stack
A U.S. law official identified the pilot as Joseph Stack and said investigators were looking at an anti-government message on the Web linked to him. The Web site outlines problems with the IRS and says violence "is the only answer."
Federal law enforcement officials have said they were investigating whether the pilot crashed on purpose in an effort to blow up IRS offices. The Web site featured a long note dated Thursday denouncing the government and the IRS in particular and cited the Austin man's problems with the agency.
When you create an atmosphere that supports violence towards the government, expect a few nuts to do things like this. Of course the right will deny responsibility for this, but they are responsible. The Teabaggers are terrorists and terrorist sympathizers.

Note to Conservatives:
STOP HIJACKING THE FUCKING FOUNDING FATHERS!!!!!
First it was the Minutemen, then the tea party, now it's Mount Vernon and George Washington. Washington would roll over in his grave if he knew what these fuckwads were advocating in his name. Washington and most the founders were liberals of their day, the conservatives opposed the Constitution and would have rather stayed British.

Outlaw Coupons
Coupons are one thing I've hated my entire life. Working in a grocery store, I've seen up close how stupid they are. Apparently, the cashier keeps the coupon and they fill this bag up with them and they send the coupons back to the business to get a refund from them. To me this is stupid, why not just cut the middleman and lower the price? It wastes paper and wastes time, people have better things to do than sit around and cut out coupons. Ban them and save so much time and energy.

Bye Bayh
Another retirement.
"To put it in the words most Hoosiers can understand: I love working for the people of Indiana, I love helping our citizens make the most of their lives, but I do not love Congress,"
Uh, okay so after 2 terms/12 years in congress, you all of a sudden don't like it? I never liked Evan Bayh, the dude has been a sellout to corporate interests and has been an enemy to the left. So fuck off if you don't want to be in congress, you were useless anyways.

The Families Keep Capital Punishment Alive
I am 100% morally opposed to capital punishment and when I read stories like this, my blood boils.
25 years, that's as old as I am. Martin E. Grossman has been in jail my entire life. Obviously he is a different person today than when he was when he murdered Peggy. So executing him today would be like killing a harmless person. IMHO, the only time killing is justified is if that person is an immediate threat and I would rather take away their freedom instead of their life when they are in custody.
But the families don't see it that way and I hate them for it.
Her mother, also named Peggy, is 79 and has been told by a cardiologist not to travel from Ohio to Florida for the execution.
But she's coming. So are Park's brother and sister. They're grieving and want closure. But they also want something else in the week they are scheduled to watch Grossman die.
They want people to know the story of a daughter, sister, wildlife officer named Peggy Park.
"I don't want Peggy ever forgotten," her mother said.
There are so many things wrong with that I don't know where to start. First, the mother is stupid for risking her life over the objections of a cardiologist. Why are her children allowing this? Do they want to go to their mother's funeral after the execution? Second, closure is bullshit. How will killing Martin make things better? The dude is essentially dead, dead to society. Third, by focusing on the murder of Peggy, they are taking attention away from her life. As a nature enthusiast, I respect her work, but the execution is the only thing I think people will care about.
Now, after living with this winding, twisting criminal case for almost as long as they lived with Peggy, the Parks are preparing to witness the execution.
It's not about vengeance, they say.
"It's to see it finished," younger sister Betsy said. "It's for Peggy, it's for my dad and it's for us to know it's done."
"I take no pleasure in somebody being executed," she said. "But again, he had a chance to make choices. And he made the wrong ones."
It's bad enough capital punishment exists, why the fuck do we allow the families to view the execution? It's definitely about vengeance, stop lying. Why do these families sound like fucking cult members? It's because they are. Like cults, they are usually small and think that the world revolves around them. In a way it does cause the law is in their favor. As long as we suck up to these families, capital punishment will live on.
"But again, he had a chance to make choices. And he made the wrong ones."
There's a difference, Grossman had a few minutes to make his bad choice, you had 25 years to make your bad choice. You are worse than your sister's murderer.

A Warning to Americans
Chuck Baldwin, a man who makes Glenn Beck look like FDR has a warning to the "Tea Party."
If one wants to put names to these treasonous wretches (and I do), I'm talking about charlatans such as Newt Gingrich and Trent Lott. Anyone who thinks that Newt Gingrich is a real conservative or that he will do anything to reduce the size and scope of the federal government needs to speak with any of those Republican members of the freshman class of 1994. (Sadly, too, some of the members of that great freshman class went on to become Big Government toadies themselves. Such is the power of that Putrid Province by the Potomac.)
The Tea Parties of 2010 remind me very much of the Conservative Revolution of 1994. And if the Tea Party Nation is not very careful, they will succumb to the same fate. The signs of a silent takeover of the movement are already appearing.
Baldwin is already preparing for the Republicans to abandon their principles of the mythical "conservatism." So let's cut the middleman and not elect these Republicans at all. The tea partiers (baggers) have always been just a side show for the Republican establishment, why is Baldwin surprised that they will abandon their principles? Cause this is what conservativism is, it's bait and switch. Conservatism has never been about small government, it has been and always will be about bad government. All conservatives suck, from the corporate wing to the neocon wing to the religious wing to the Ron Paul/Chuck Baldwin wing.
Warning to Americans: if it says it's "conservative", run away from it.

"Green Helicopter"
On behalf of every environmentalist, I will say fuck Audi for making this commercial. I know it was suppose to be a joke, but the environment-hating right has already turned it into gospel. It makes us look like jack-booted thugs when we aren't.
It's funny cause in the commercial, they use a helicopter to track someone down for not using compost. A helicopter? Really? I think I'm going to use the term "green helicopter" to describe conspiracy theorists who take the commercial seriously.

Manning Brothers to Appear in their own Pro-Life Ad
After the success of the Tebow Superbowl ad, Focus on the Family is planning to launch another commercial featuring 2 other NFL stars who have had similar stories of their mothers choosing life over abortion. The Tebow ads outraged feminists cause they imply that women with difficult and dangerous pregnancies should risk their lives just to give birth to a child who could one day end up being a Heisman winner. The chances of that happening are like 1 in over a million, but to be sure, Focus on the Family wants to force you to have that baby just in case; even if it kills you.
Some pro-lifers say they only support abortion if it is for the health of the woman or for incest. Tebow covered the first one, now secret documents are coming out that Olivia Manning, the wife of Archie and mother of Peyton, Eli, and that other brother nobody cares about Cooper is really Archie's cousin. It is said that incest is bad cause it results in deformities which both Peyton and Eli have, but have covered them up well. If you think about it, Peyton does look and talk like Forest Gump, so maybe they aren't that well hidden.
In the ad, Olivia shows a picture of Peyton and Eli and talks about how much she loves them and even though they are the result of incest, she is glad they were born. Then Peyton and Eli come into the picture and beat her up. Peyton pulls out a bat and cracks her skull open while Eli stabs her with a knife. A second later she gets up like nothing happens and talks about how tough she is. At the end, Peyton storms off crying without giving her a hug and Eli tries to fight off Cooper who is trying to get in the commercial. Olivia just stands there smiling and the website for Focus on the Family pops up.
Of course feminist groups are outraged over this saying that it is a misogynist message. James Dobson countered this claim by saying they were wrong and "just having their period." Focus on the Family by the way is debating whether or not having a period is abortion.
Next year Focus on the Family is concentrating on crack babies that could have been aborted and have instead grown up to become successful. George W Bush and Barbara Bush are slated to be in that commercial.

I Have to Agree With Pam
When your father was a piece of shit right-wing thug, I would find it hard to believe that he wouldn't support a dumbass like Palin. Pam Geller was debating Ron Reagan and the topic of his father came up.
Reagan: Because she doesn't have a thought in her head. That's why.
Geller: That's what they said about your father.
Again, Pam is right on the money except she's not saying that Reagan didn't have a thought in his head, she's saying we did, which is true. Conservatism is built on the dumbing down of society and even the so-called "intellectuals" are complicit in this. If you write 10 pages telling someone to pick their nose versus someone who says "pick your nose", you're both telling someone to pick their nose, period. Conservatism is anti-intellectual, neither Palin nor Reagan had a thought in their head even if one was "smarter" than the other.
As for Ron, if he continues to defend his fascist father, I don't think he has a place on the liberal side. The entire right-wing movement worships Ronald Reagan and he is most responsible for the fruits of the movement including the destruction of the middle class and organized labor. Ron reminds me of Luke Skywalker knowing his dad is Darth Vader, except he never "saved" his dad from himself like Luke did.
As for Pam Geller:
She came to lead the next revolution.
BAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

Rest in Peace John Murtha
Even if we disagreed on some issues, you served Pennsylvania and your country well. Let's hope a scum-sucking Republican doesn't take your seat.
How to be a Minority Conservative
To be a minority conservative, your street cred must include bashing your own.
Asian-American grievance-mongers and “diversity” bureaucrats in Atlanta need to justify their existence and their salaries.
Malkintented is of Filipino descent, so you would think she would be up in arms over this. But because she is a conservative, she has to hate other Asian-Americans to get street cred. Pathetic.

Idiot of the Week
Andrew Wakefield
I wish there was a way to arrest people for stuff like this. People die from measles, there needs to be punishment. The same could be said about global warming deniers who control policy.

Adam Graham Hates the Environment
I stumbled across this today as I check the crazy right-wing blogs and it's nothing special. It's the same crap, environmentalists hate people, it's a religion, it's about control, DDT was good, bla bla bla. But what I would like to highlight is the cover he uses.
Certainly, we ought to have clean air and clean water. Who likes polluted streams and unbreathable air? Likewise, we ought to treat God's creatures with respect and kindness. I remember how angry was when on a visit to the Columbus zoo, a crowd of kids were infuriating the gorillas, teasing them until they would slam themselves into the glass. I'm all for banning cockfighting and dogfighting and making them felonies. William Wilberforce opposed cruelty to animals and so do I.
So he likes clean air and clean water and hates animals getting bullied, well same for me, but I don't then go and rant for paragraphs about how I am not an environmentalist. If Adam really likes clean air and water, then he should shut the fuck up cause it were environmentalists that fought for that. But Adam does something clever here, he then claims "Environmentalist Initiatives May Not Benefit the Environment", therefore he thinks in his mind that he is doing the right thing.
He cites some forest fires in Montana as proof that environmentalists are anti-environmental. So opposing the cutting down of trees where the animals live means we hate the animals, I don't get it. Plus this is false, if you want to prevent forest fires, the last thing you want to do is cut down trees. Dense forests are terrible for starting forest fires, they are sometimes damp, shady, green, and very closed to prevent wind from sweeping through. The areas that are most vulnerable to fire are areas near homes and yes logging areas where recently cut down trees act as fuel. So the blame-the-environmentalist attitude doesn't work here, but I guess Adam doesn't give a levitating rat's ass about the facts.
I could go on, but I think the case is that environmentalism is not only important to the Earth, but mankind as well and anyone like Adam who says they aren't an environmentalist, hates the Earth and mankind as well.

Shut up Palin!
You know what Sarah? Shut up, go into a hole and never come out again. You can't advocate revolution when you support the relative status quo.
Stupid Statistics
Some people are desperate to turn the least important aspect of a game into something significant.
Of the 43 Super Bowls, the team that won the pregame coin toss has won 20 times and lost 23, a .465 winning percentage, and has lost 10 of the last 13.
Uh, okay. And this is suppose to mean something? I wish people would just say it's symbolic and shut the fuck up, but no, people are obsessed with superstition. But this really got to me:
The game's coin traveled into space with the shuttle Atlantis in November.
Isn't that the craziest fucking thing you've ever heard?
Of course what is even dumber than the coin toss are the celebrities that show up to do the toss or worse, stand there and watch.

Charles Johnson the Jew Hunter
In the movie Inglorious Basterds, a Nazi who is called the "Jew Hunter" surrenders to Brad Pitt (his character) and wants to live in the US in a luxurious house if he surrenders. Not only that, he wants to take credit for the entire operation to kill Hitler and go down in history as a hero.
I was remembering a few weeks ago Charles Johnson of Little Green Footballs posted his Why I Parted Ways With the Right piece. While it's great he "joined"* our side, I have a question for Charles: why fucking now?
Seriously.
Racism, homophobia, hate speech, creationism, global warming denial, fascism, sexism, Islamophobia, I get it the right sucks, but I figured this out years ago when I just started learning about politics, but Johnson is an older man who has had LGF be a conservative blog for years, why hasn't this affected him then? The right has always been racist, has always been homophobic, etc. Is CJ saying he was once that way and not anymore, or is he saying the right used to be good and it is not anymore. I think the latter and that is not intellectually accurate.
I'm unimpressed at CJ's sudden conversion, the dude also needs to apologize to Dan Rather for smearing him and even after CJ's conversion, he is still bashing Rather. He also needs to apologize to the family of Rachel Corrie and Palestinians.
While CJ is being praised for his conversion, I see this as just opportunistic. But I do read LGF for links to stories while keeping in mind CJ's past bullshit.
At the end of Inglorious Basterds, Brad Pitt carves a Swastika in the Jew Hunter's forehead to make him and others remember that he was a Nazi forever. I'm not saying we should do this to CJ, but I think we need to remind him of his past forever.
*Notice how his column is not titled "Why I Joined the Left", I think this is to leave room in case he wants to go anti-liberal while at the same time being anti-conservative.

Crist Just Lost the Election
Note to Crist, if you want to win over conservative Republicans, don't imply Reagan was a RINO.
If I'm a RINO, then so is Ronald Reagan.
The Rubio supporters already think Crist is a RINO, so when Crist says that, he is to them saying that the Republican god is a RINO. That is considered blasphemy. Goodbye Crist!

Is the Term "Retarded" Really Offensive?
A lot has been said about Rahm Emanuel's use of the term "retarded", but I find it offensive not because he used the term, but who it was directed to. His comment was directed towards attack ads against Democrats opposed to healthcare reform, aka the left. If he had said his comments about Republicans or conservatives, that would have been okay. Of course speaking of retarded, Palin had to throw her hat into the debate and claim Rahm was offensive to the disabled. Huh? This attention freak should be the last person to bring attention to the term "retarded" unless she wants it directed at her for what she says.
But on the other hand, is the term "retarded" really that offensive? I mean, we use the terms "lame", "stupid", and "crazy" but we aren't offended by those terms being used. If anything, "retarded" is less offensive than those terms; "retard" just means to slow down or hinder and retard the noun describes someone who retards. We have "flame retardants", but nobody bitches when that term is used. If anything, "retard" perfectly describes the entire conservative movement.
If someone had said "mentally retarded", that would be different.
