Pulling a Cliven Bundy: making an incredibly bigoted statement and having conservatives supporting you. That's what David Benham did.
"In blog posts, he has said that gay marriage "erodes the moral fabric of our society" and has likened the growing acceptance of same-sex marriage to appeasement of the Nazis."
The Nazis hated gays, so this is purely projection to say that somehow accepting gay rights is equivalent to appeasing the Nazis. Of course after getting fired, Benham has become another one of those fake heroes of the conservatives. He is no hero or victim, he is a bad guy.
