Amanda Marcotte is right, you have to be a crazy conspiracy theorist to deny global warming.
Climate change denialism is so widespread and sadly socially acceptable that it’s sometimes easy to forget that a) it’s a conspiracy theory and b) it’s one that’s so wackadoodle it makes the claim that NASA faked the moon landing seem reasonable. After all, the pull of a faked moon landing, you probably only need to have a few hundred co-conspirators, maybe 1,000 at most. Nearly impossible, unless you’re BeyoncĂ© and the goal is to simply keep your secret album from getting mentioned in the press before you drop it. But at least the moon landing conspiracy theory assumes everyone works for one institution.
But the scope of what climate change denialists argue is happening is well beyond that. You have to assume that thousands upon thousands of scientists from a diverse range of nations are conspiring, with their diverse governments no less, to hoodwink the public with a scientific theory that any moron can easily verify is true by considering what happens to the inside of a car on a hot summer day. Let’s be clear: It is not possible to get that many people with so many competing interests together to pull a hoax like that. It can’t be done. If you’ve ever tried to get 15 people together for a dinner party, you should know that organizing a conspiracy that would literally have to involve millions of people keeping their mouths shut is impossible. Not just hard. Impossible.
I'll take the word of the scientific community over some random idiot in the backwoods.

Lois Lerner is Right
Republicans: "How dare Lois Lerner call us 'crazy assholes!' Now let's go sue the Kenyan-born socialist who blew up the Malaysian plane!"

Conservatives Are Getting Dumber
Over the last few months I've observed conservatives becoming dumber right in front of my eyes. Yes they are also crazy, racist, corrupt, etc., but all those qualities come from stupidity. It's like their brains are the Wicked Witch of the West melting in The Wizard of Oz. The one story that has brought out the stupidity the most has been the immigrant children coming to America and that has made conservatives lose their already small minds melt more. Then this story popped up:
So the politician sees a bus full of YMCA children and thinks that they are immigrants, what a fucking idiot! But that is just one example of idiocy out of thousands of stories. These people are embarrassing.

Let Me End a Talking Point
The whole "Democrats are the party of racism because past Democrats were racist" argument is stupid, pointless, and irrelevant. Yes southern Democrats supported racism in the past, but the party as a whole switched over to the other side and fought against racism. The modern Republican Party also supported racism in the past, so both parties weren't perfect. But I'd say 99% of the modern day racists are in the Republican Party. Racism is rooted in conservatism, the modern Republican Party is the more conservative of the two parties and Democrats are more liberal today. The southern states which were mostly Democratic prior to the 60's are now mostly Republican and those people didn't change their views on racism either. The Democrats just became the Republicans. 95% of black voters vote for Democrats, that is larger than any other group including Latinos and gays. To say that they are voting for racists because of the past is just insulting to them. The Republicans bringing this up are just projecting and stupid. In fact modern day liberal Democrats should take credit for all legislation that fought racism even if it was passed by Republicans. Democrats are the new "Party of Lincoln" since most Republicans would reject Lincoln's legacy.
Any Republican/conservative who brings that point up is full of crap and are using it to cover up their own racism, period.

Democrats Bail Out Mississippi Republicans, You're Welcome
The Republican primary election in Mississippi showed that no matter how far-right a candidate is, there is always a crazier one. Thad Cochran was about to get his ass handed to him by a *Tea Partier, but at the last second Democrats crossed over to vote for him. Mississippi is already messed up, but at least Cochran brought some money back to the state. With him out of there, Mississippi would be messed up even more. So to all the Republicans in Mississippi, you owe Democrats a "thank you" for rescuing you, but I don't think that will ever come.
*I've decided to stop using the term "teabagger." While I think the Tea Party deserves to be called that and they don't deserve to be called the "Tea Party", I think the name is stuck and there's nothing we can do about it. But I will say "Tea Party" ironically.

Memorial Day
The best way to honor fallen soldiers is to not make more of them. Support peace on Memorial Day. The troops fought for our freedom, the anti-war movement fought for their freedom.

The Nigerian Girls Might Get Saved (No Thanks To Conservatives)
Bring back our girls!
The United States has deployed 80 troops to Chad to augment efforts to find the Nigerian schoolgirls recently taken hostage, the White House announced Wednesday, a significant escalation of Washington’s contribution to a crisis that has created global consternation.
I'm not saying with 100% certainty that they will save the girls, but at least they have a chance now. The Nigerian government tried to sweep the kidnapping under the rug, but the Twitter campaign championed by good people like Michelle Obama embarrassed the Nigerian government into doing something.
Of course this is no thanks to bad conservatives like Limbaugh and Coulter who mocked the Twitter campaign and didn't offer any incite on their own. If conservatives had their way, all the girls would be doomed. Luckily, their trolling and interference didn't win.

David Benham "Pulled a Cliven Bundy"
Pulling a Cliven Bundy: making an incredibly bigoted statement and having conservatives supporting you. That's what David Benham did.
"In blog posts, he has said that gay marriage "erodes the moral fabric of our society" and has likened the growing acceptance of same-sex marriage to appeasement of the Nazis."
The Nazis hated gays, so this is purely projection to say that somehow accepting gay rights is equivalent to appeasing the Nazis. Of course after getting fired, Benham has become another one of those fake heroes of the conservatives. He is no hero or victim, he is a bad guy.

Crist is Right, But...
Former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist (D), a former Republican, said racism is a "big reason" why he left the GOP.
Of course a better answer should be, "Racism is a big reason not to join the GOP in the first place."

Republicans Don't Care About Benghazi
Let me make this point clear: Republicans don't really care about Benghazi, to them it's just a shameless political gesture. If Republicans had any decency, they would apologize to the families of those who died at Benghazi. But Republicans don't have any decency, so fuck them! The best we can hope for is that they will be punished at the polls for their scandal of exploiting this tragedy. Again, if you are a Republican and say you care about Benghazi, you don't, so stop lying!

No Surprise
Cliven Bundy, the rancher that conservatives worship and admire is indeed a racist. Not just a subtle one, but a flaming one. Let's see conservatives try to back away from this even though they are deep in shit. Although some won't because they don't have a conscience.

Some Tough Words
I have this philosophy that if you say, "I oppose X, but I oppose the path to stopping X", you really don't oppose X. For example, if you oppose car deaths, but oppose safety measures that stop those deaths, you don't want lives to be saved. I could mention a few other examples, but I'd be here forever. The one example that I'd like to highlight is the issue of gun control. Now gun control has been proven to work when it's enforced the right way, so it can save lives when enacted. There is this cult mentality around guns that borders on insanity and it needs to be stopped. These people will do anything to stand in the way of common sense gun control and that will cost lives. To make things worse, they will mock, insult, and try to take down good people who want to try to stop gun deaths. These same people will then say they oppose gun deaths and massacres like the Columbine or Sandy Hook shootings. Two words: crocodile tears. Look, if you are a gun nut and support people being irresponsible with guns, please admit it. Stop pretending to care about the victims and getting in the way of good people cleaning up the mess. Or just compound the problem more.

Besides being Easter, today is also the 15th anniversary of the Columbine Massacre. Let's keep them in our memory and fight for more gun control.

Obamacare Will Save Lives
Republicans will never support Obamacare and fuck them, haters are going to hate. With more people enrolling in healthcare, lives are going to be saved and people are going to live longer and be more healthier. But Republicans aren't going to have it, so just fuck them, I've had it with their bullshit. Obama deserves the respect he deserves and one day we can have single-payer healthcare like they do in other countries to bypass the for-profit insurance companies. Until then, Obamacare will save lives, thank you Obama!

Can We Please Stop Feeling Sorry For Bigots?
Seriously. Some people are in an uproar over Brendan Eich getting fired from Mozilla Firefox and it's like "cry me a freaking river." Eich wanted to suppress the rights of gay people, I think it's only fair to give him a taste of his own medicine. It's still legal to fire gay people in many states for doing wrong, let's stop feeling sorry for the bad guys receiving karma.

Priorities?
I think it's fair to say that Republicans have spent more time over the last week criticizing Obama over the invasion of Crimea than they have criticizing Putin.

The Global Warming Trump Card
Every Winter idiot global warming deniers say stupid shit like, "It's cold outside, therefor the world isn't warming." Of course it's called "global" warming, so even if some areas get colder, the whole world gets warmer. I'm not a scientist, so I'm not an expert on how it happens. But do you know who are scientists, SCIENTISTS! 90 percent of them say the world is getting warmer and 82 percent say it's because of humans. People who spend their lives in various fields of science making our lives better know more about our world than businessmen on Fox News or idiots living in the backwoods. Most of them say the world is warming because of humans, so it is most likely warming because of humans. That is the trump card in any debate with a denier. You don't have to do hours of research, intelligent men and women have already done it for you. Until that number dips below 50 percent of scientists, I say the deniers should just shut the fuck up and get out of our way so we can stop global warming.
